Plain-text accounting on top of Beancount, plus a desktop viewer that turns a ledger into something a non-accountant can read. The interesting part is not the maths — it is making a year of transactions legible at a glance.

I write software that solves problems I actually have. Most of it starts as a one-evening script, and the pieces that survive six months of daily use get cleaned up and published. Nothing here is a product; some of it might still be useful to someone else.
What I work on
Computer vision
An earlier stretch of work: segmentation datasets, moving weights between Caffe models, and embedded inference. Mostly archived now, but the habit of measuring before optimising stuck.
Media plumbing
Glue between services that were never meant to talk to each other — a catalogue bridged into a set-top box player, a bot that answers a question nobody else was answering.
Recent
- Aug 2026 Split the family ledger into a public tooling repository and a private data one. Should have done that on day one.
- Nov 2025 Rewrote the budget viewer in Go. Startup time went from noticeable to not.
- Aug 2025 Kinopub bridge for Media Station X — mostly to stop fighting the stock interface.
